CANARY TOUR

DAY 1

Lanzarote

 Experience black lava fields, white-washed houses, and vibrant green vineyards.

Lanzarote is a ride on the moon.

Route: Órzola – Playa Blanca

Distance: 85km

Elevation Gain: 1,400m

Our journey begins with a ride from the northern tip of Lanzarote to the south, taking advantage of favorable tailwinds. This introductory day offers a moderate challenge, starting with a morning climb to the Mirador del Río, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of La Graciosa and its turquoise waters. The route continues with rolling hills and the first switchbacks of the tour, offering spectacular views as you pass through Lanzarote’s famous vineyards, which are uniquely planted in deep black volcanic soil. The day concludes with a descent to the southern end of the island, where we’ll spend the night in Lanzarote and prepare for an early morning ferry.

DAY 2

Fuerteventura 

White sandy beaches, sweeping sand dunes, and remote deserts with an African influence.

Route: Puerto del Rosario or Casillas del Ángel – Morro Jable

Distance: 86km

Elevation Gain: 1,500m

The day begins with a gradual climb to Betancuria, the island’s oldest capital from the Guanche era. After a brief stop in the charming town of Pájara to refuel, we tackle a short but steep climb with stunning views of Fuerteventura’s volcanic landscape. The second half of the ride features a flowing track leading to Morro Jable, home to one of the most beautiful beaches in the archipelago. Here, we’ll rest before taking a ferry to Gran Canaria.

DAY 3

Gran Canaria

Explore deep ravines, towering cliffs, and ancient aboriginal caves.

Route: Mogán – Playa del Inglés

Distance: 145 km

Elevation Gain: 3,800 m

Welcome to GRANDCANYARIA 

 Welcome to Gran Canaria, where our first big day in the saddle begins with a stunning climb from Mogán. An early start is essential to avoid the heat on this challenging ascent. As we climb higher, the landscape becomes greener, and we’ll ride through pine forests and picturesque villages, immersing ourselves in the island’s unique culture. The day ends with a thrilling descent to Playa del Inglés.

DAY 4

Tenerife  ( 1 ) North

Discover enchanted forests, colonial towns, and a massive volcano.

Route: Santa Cruz – Puerto de la Cruz

Distance: 110 km

Elevation Gain: 2,800 m

Early morning ferry to Tenerife, we’ll start our ride from Santa Cruz port. The route takes us to Las Teresitas beach and then up to the Pijaral Natural Reserve, where lush green forests and cooler temperatures await. We’ll navigate out-and-back roads to explore the heart of the reserve, with some of the best views from lookout points. The day ends with a descent through charming towns to our base in Puerto de la Cruz.

DAY 5

Tenerife  ( 2 ) South

Conquer the highest peak in Spain on a journey to the top of Mount Teide.

Route: Puerto de la Cruz – Los Cristianos

Distance: 95 km

Elevation Gain: 2,600 m

Today’s ride is the most iconic of the entire tour, featuring Mount Teide, the highest elevation in Spain. We begin in La Orotava and climb steadily to the base of the volcano, cycling through a lunar-like landscape. After a break in the highlands, we’ll descend to the southern town of Los Cristianos, where we’ll finish the day’s ride.

DAY 6

La Gomera

Wind your way through deep ravines and misty forests.

Route: San Sebastián – San Sebastián

Distance: 85 km

Elevation Gain: 2,500 m

We’ll take a day trip to La Gomera, departing on a 9:30 a.m. ferry and returning by 5:30 p.m. Weather is a key factor here, with potential wind and mist on the climb from San Sebastián. The route takes us up towards Hermigua, Agulo, and Garajonay National Park, ending with a loop through the lush Laurisilva forest. Afterward, we’ll descend back to San Sebastián, taking an alternate route if conditions allow.

CANARY TOUR XL

The Canary Super Tour “XL” is an extended version of our regular Canary Islands Tour. In addition to the five islands covered in the standard tour, the XL option takes you to a sixth island—La Palma, known as “La Isla Bonita.” With two extra days added to the itinerary, you’ll have more time to explore and immerse yourself in the diverse landscapes, from volcanic peaks and lush forests to sweeping coastlines and remote villages. This tour is perfect for those who want to experience everything the Canary Islands have to offer, pushing their limits over eight exhilarating days of riding.

DAY 7

La Palma

Huge caldera, banana fields and magical roads.

Route: Santa Cruz – Tazacorte (South Bound)

Distance: 65 km – 1,200 m / 90 km – 1,900 m

We arrive in La Palma late in the morning, with enough time for an afternoon ride. Heading south from Santa Cruz, we’ll climb through upper villages towards La Breña Alta and Mazo, passing through quaint neighborhoods on our way to Fuencaliente. If energy permits, we can complete the southern lighthouse loop or return to our starting point via a lower road. We’ll finish the day in Tazacorte, our base on this stunning island.

DAY 8

La Palma

Route: Tazacorte – Tazacorte / Santa Cruz (North Bound)

Distance: 140 km – 3,900 m / 100 km – 2,400 m

We start the day with a classic local climb, El Time. Our route follows the coastal road before transitioning to quieter paths, gaining altitude through pine forests and vineyards. We’ll pass through Barlovento and Los Sauces, eventually returning to Santa Cruz. For those still eager to ride, there’s an optional climb from San Isidro to El Paso, followed by a thrilling descent back to Tazacorte.

CANARito express TOUR

This tour option is perfect for cyclists who want to experience the breathtaking beauty and diversity of the Canary Islands in a shorter time frame. The Canarito Express takes you on an exhilarating journey starting in Tenerife, then on to La Gomera, and finishing in La Palma. You’ll follow the same challenging routes on these islands as in the full Canary tour, experiencing the essence of each island in just five days.

DAY 1

Tenerife (North)

Route: Santa Cruz – Puerto de la Cruz

Distance: 110 km

Your adventure begins on the island of Tenerife, starting from the bustling port of Santa Cruz. The first day’s route leads you along the coast towards Las Teresitas Beach, then ascends into the lush, green landscapes of the Pijaral Natural Reserve. As you climb higher, you’ll enter the enchanted forests of the Anaga Mountains, with opportunities to take in the incredible views from the lookout points. After exploring this verdant area, you’ll descend through charming colonial towns, ending your day in Puerto de la Cruz, where you can relax and enjoy the local cuisine.

DAY 2

Tenerife (South)

Route: Puerto de la Cruz – Los Cristianos

Distance: 95 km

The second day on Tenerife is all about conquering Spain’s highest peak, Mount Teide. Leaving Puerto de la Cruz, you’ll make your way to La Orotava, where the long, steady climb to the base of the volcano begins. The ride takes you through an otherworldly landscape that feels like cycling on the moon. After reaching the highlands, you’ll be rewarded with a thrilling descent towards the southern coast, finishing your ride in Los Cristianos. This day is sure to be a highlight, with its dramatic scenery and the challenge of reaching the top of Spain.

DAY 3

La Gomera

Route: San Sebastián – San Sebastián

Distance: 85 km

Elevation Gain: 2,500 m

On the morning of Day 3, you’ll take an early ferry from Tenerife to the nearby island of La Gomera. La Gomera is known for its rugged terrain and pristine natural beauty. The day’s route starts and ends in San Sebastián, the island’s capital. You’ll begin with a climb straight out of the port, winding your way up into the misty, mystical Laurisilva forests that blanket the island’s higher elevations. The route takes you through the picturesque towns of Hermigua and Agulo, with panoramic views of deep ravines and verdant valleys. A loop around the Garajonay National Park offers a glimpse into one of the most well-preserved forests in Europe. After the loop, you’ll descend back to San Sebastián, where you’ll catch a ferry to La Palma in the late afternoon.

DAY 4

La Palma (South Bound)

Route: Santa Cruz – Tazacorte

Distance: 65 km – 1,200 m / 90 km – 1,900 m

Day 4 brings you to La Palma, also known as “La Isla Bonita” for its stunning landscapes. Arriving in Santa Cruz, you’ll have time to explore this beautiful island in the afternoon. The route takes you south from the capital, ascending through the charming villages of La Breña Alta and Mazo. As you ride, you’ll pass through lush banana plantations and vineyards, all set against the backdrop of La Palma’s dramatic volcanic scenery. Depending on your energy levels, you can either opt for a shorter loop or continue on to complete the southern lighthouse circuit before finishing in Tazacorte, where you’ll base yourself for the final day of the tour.

DAY 5

La Palma (North Bound)

Route: Tazacorte – Tazacorte / Santa Cruz

Distance: 140 km – 3,900 m / 100 km – 2,400 m

The final day of your Canarito Express adventure is an epic journey around the northern half of La Palma. Starting with a climb from Tazacorte, you’ll tackle the local favorite, El Time. The route takes you along the island’s rugged coastline before heading inland through pine forests and vineyards. You’ll experience the quieter side of the island, with less traffic and more opportunities to soak in the breathtaking views. Passing through Barlovento and Los Sauces, you’ll eventually loop back towards Santa Cruz. For those looking to push their limits, there’s an option to add an additional climb up from San Isidro, followed by a thrilling descent back to Tazacorte. This final ride will leave you with unforgettable memories of La Palma’s natural beauty and the sense of accomplishment that comes from completing this incredible journey.
