Northern Tour
Day 1. Welcome to Vineyards land
Briones – Logroño
Distance: 75km Elevation Gain: 800m
Our adventure begins in Briones, a medieval hilltop town known for its ancient Plaza Mayor (main
square) and authentic Spanish charm. From here, we’ll cycle through the heart of La Rioja’s
vineyards, immersing ourselves in the landscapes that make this region famous. Along the route,
we’ll pass historic towns like Nájera and make a stop at a winery in Cenicero for a taste of Rioja’s
finest. Our day ends in the vibrant city of Logrono, where we’ll stroll the lively streets, dine on
world-renowned pintxos along Calle Laurel, and soak un the local atmosphere.
Day 2. It is all about wine
Logroño – Laguardia
Distance: 50 km. Elevation Gain: 1000m
Today’s shorter ride offers spectacular rewards, taking us through three unique regions: La
Rioia, Navarra, and the Basque Country. We’ll exit Logroño and pedal through lush
countryside and endless vineyards. A steady morning climb along the Sierra Cantabria
rewards us with breathtaking views, leading to one of the most scenic roads of our journey.
We’ll visit a small family winery where the tradition of winemaking is strong, followed by a
tour at a larger vineyard for a broader perspective on regional wine production. Lunch is a
treat, as we dine at a restaurant owned by a close friend -expect local flavors and a warm
welcome. We’ll settle into Laguardia for a restful night.
Day 3. Cantabric Ocean
Balmaseda – Somo ( Santander )
Distance: 80 km Elevation Gain: 900m
We start early with a short transfer to Balmaseda, a medieval town nestled in the Encartaciones
valley of the Basque Country. Our ride begins with some climbing but transitions into a more
relaxed descent through one of the region’s favorite cycling routes, where we’ll likely share the road
with local cyclists. As we move towards the coastal town of Somo, our route offers beautitu!
countryside and coastal views. We’ll take a local ferry across the bay to Santander, the capital of
Cantabria, where we I spend the night. This scenic town gives us a chance to explore, relax, and
enjoy its cultural, culinary, and sporting options.
Day 4. Pasiegos and Cattle fields
Santander /Oregon – Comillas
Distance: 60 km Elevation Gain: 1,000m
After exploring Santander, we’re back to the countryside with a short ride to Obregón, where our
cycling day begins. Our route winds up and down gentle hills, taking us through the secluded Valle
Oscuro (Dark Valley), one of Cantabria’s hidden treasures. Along the way, we’ll pause for coffee
with a local sobao. a traditional cake of the region, and marvel at the green, pastoral landscapes
where local farmers tend cattle. Our day concludes in the coastal town of Comillas, Known for Its
medieval university and impressive architecture. Here, we I soak in the town s history and enjoy
peacetul evening.
Day 5. Welcome to Asturias
Comillas – Llanes
Distance: 60 km Elevation Gain: 900m
Leaving Comillas, we head into the breathtaking scenery of Oyambre National Park, tracing the
coast to reach the fishing town of San Vicente de la Barquera. From here, we cross into Asturias, a
region that’s famous for its rugged coastlines, majestic mountains, and friendly locals. The
landscape becomes even more dramatic, with lush valleys and ocean views that are hard to capture
in words. We will arrive In Lanes with plenty of time to explore its narrow streets and sample some of
the best Astunan cuisine. Choosing a restaurant here will be a delicious challenge, with so many
options to try.
Day 6. Picos and more
Llanes – Ribadesella
Distance: 50km. Elevation Gain: 600m
Our final day brings us to the beautiful coastal town of Ribadesella, with a scenic route that
highlights all the landscapes we’ve enjoyed throughout the week. The short ride gives us time to
savor the stunning vistas and appreciate the journey we’ve shared. To celebrate, we’ll indulge in
Asturias» famous cachopo, a dish as hearty as the region itself, and perhaps raise a glass at a local
sidreria to toast our adventure. It s a fitting finale to an untorgettable tour through northern Spain.

Day 0. Rioja & Neighbours
Logroño – Logroño
Distance: 60km. Elevation Gain: 1000m
Today’s route is designed to go beyond traditional sightseeing and offer you a true taste of local life.
Departing from Logroño, we’ll ride through idyllic roads rarely seen by tourists and frequented
mostly by locals. As we cycle, you’ll discover some of the hidden gems in the region, including
small villages nestled among vineyards and picturesque landscapes that stretch into Rioja’s
neighboring territories. With a mix of serene backroads and beautiful terrain, this day is a perfect
introduction to the area s rich culture and natural beauty -an Ideal prologue to the adventure that
awaits.
Day 7. Covadonga & Picos
Ribadesella – Ribadesella
Distance: 90km. Elevation Gain: 1,000m
To crown our journey, we’ll embark on one of the most iconic climbs in Spain, up to the Covadonga
Sanctuary. This historic ascent has featured in La Vuelta many times, challenging riders with its
legendary status and rewarding them with stunning views. As we cycle through the breathtaking
Picos de Europa National Park, we’ll experience Asturias at its finest, with sweeping vistas that
blend ocean views, lush valleys, and towering mountain peaks. Every tum reveals another stunning
scene, making this final day a powertul, scenic conclusion to our untorgettable tour.

8 days tour: 5.100 € per person.
Based on a minimum of 4 customers and a double occupancy room. Single room ask for quote. E-bike has extra cost.

Gijón or Santander are the closest international airport after the tour although Bilbao will have more frequent flights. As for the beginning Bilbao will be closet to the departure point. We can help you to organise the transport for any of the airports in Spain to our starting point .
