DAY 1

Ribadesella – Ribadesella

Distance: 50km

Elevation Gain: 800m

Today marks the beginning of our journey! We’ll dive straight into the local culture, exploring iconic places and indulging in some of the region’s most exquisite culinary delights. Our adventure commences with a fantastic loop starting from the beach at our hotel. Our route leads us to Lastres, acclaimed as one of the most beautiful villages along the entire Cantabric coast. A highlight will be a visit to a local “llagar” (Sidreria), followed by a descent along our favorite cliff, guiding us back to our lodging.

DAY 2

Ribadesella – San Vicente de la Barquera

Distance: 80 km

Elevation Gain: 1,100m

Leaving Ribadesella behind, we’ll cycle along the coastline, offering glimpses of lush green fields against the backdrop of the renowned Spanish mountain range, Picos de Europa. We’ll make a mandatory stop at Llanes before venturing into a magical and secluded valley en route to our overnight stay in San Vicente de la Barquera, a charming fishing town steeped in history and allure.

 

DAY 3

San Vicente – Solares

Distance: 81 km

Elevation Gain: 1,300m 

Get ready for a rewarding day! Our longest ride of the tour begins with a stunning stretch alongside the Oyambre Park, following the Cantabric Ocean to Comillas, another essential stop on our journey. Leaving the coastline temporarily, we’ll ascend into the verdant lands of Cantabria, circling the famed Cabarceno Natural Park, leading to our resting place in Solares, where an exciting surprise awaits.

Day 4

Solares – Limpias

Distance: 40 km

Elevation Gain: 500m

Today promises an easier ride with a later start. We’ll enjoy a brief journey through the latter part of this region. Our day includes another visit, this time to a local farm, offering insights into and tasting the classic gastronomy of Cantabria. Our night’s accommodation is at one of the National Parador, situated in a historically significant building, part of the luxurious national state-owned hotels.

DAY 5

Limpias – Artziniega

Distance: 60 km

Elevation Gain: 1,100m

Prepare for a morning ascent to traverse the pass connecting us with the Basque Country. The cycling culture here is vibrant, allowing you to feel right at home among the locals. Balmaseda will be a significant stop before our final ascent to the Basilica of Artziniega. Following this, we’ll transfer to La Rioja.

DAY 6

Rioja Loop

Distance: 40km 

Elevation Gain: 800m

On our final riding day, we’ll delve into the world of wineries and vineyards. Pedaling through endless fields of wine grapes against the backdrop of the Sierra Cantabria, we’ll visit a winery and indulge in a celebratory lunch at a renowned restaurant. It’s time to commemorate a fantastic week of cycling, filled with unforgettable experiences.

Final price: 3,900€ per person. 

Tour dates will be mid-May to late June or mid-September to mid-October.

Based on a minimum of 4 customers and a double occupancy room. Single room ask for quote. E-bike has extra cost. Extended tour days has extra cost.

Bilbao will be the closest international airport after the tour. As for the beginning Gijon or Santander will be closet to the departure point although Bilbao will have more frequent flights. We can help you to organise the transport for any of the airports in Spain to our starting point .
