Rioja Wine Cycling

Personalized Rioja Experiences

La Rioja is much more than wine. Beyond the famous vineyards lies a region of quiet roads, medieval villages, mountain ranges, river valleys and some of the most varied cycling terrain in Northern Spain.

As locals, we know the region intimately. From hidden vineyard roads and traditional villages to demanding mountain climbs and remote gravel tracks, we can help you discover the side of La Rioja that most visitors never see.

Whether you are looking for a fully guided cycling holiday, a private tour tailored to your interests, or a self-guided adventure, we can create the perfect experience based on your riding level, available time and travel preferences.

Our goal is simple: to help you experience the very best of La Rioja by bike, combining cycling, gastronomy, wine culture and authentic local experiences.

Why Ride La Rioja?

La Rioja offers an exceptional variety of cycling within a relatively small area.

Ride through endless vineyards along the Ebro Valley, explore medieval villages such as Laguardia and Briones, climb into the Sierra de la Demanda and Sierra Cantabria, discover remote mountain roads with almost no traffic, or enjoy relaxed routes connecting wineries and historic towns.

The region’s mild climate, excellent food and world-renowned wine culture make it one of Spain’s most rewarding cycling destinations.

🍇 About the Region

Our tour takes you through one of the most renowned wine-producing areas in the world: La Rioja and La Rioja Alavesa. This region has a wine-making tradition that dates back over 2,000 years, with some of the oldest wineries in Spain and a global reputation for quality and heritage.

We’ll visit family-run wineries with deep roots in the DOCa Rioja wine region. You’ll learn firsthand how Rioja wine is made — from vineyard to barrel — and of course, you’ll have the chance to taste these exceptional wines during our curated visits.

Throughout the journey, you’ll cycle through picturesque villages such as Briones, Laguardia, and others off the beaten path, offering a deeper, more authentic perspective on local life. The route often runs alongside the Ebro River, which nourishes the valley and shapes the landscape’s rich agricultural character.

One of the highlights of the tour is riding through the Sierra de Cantabria, a dramatic mountain range that forms a natural border between La Rioja and the Basque Country. With moderate elevation, low-traffic roads, and breathtaking views over vineyards and valley floors, this area offers one of the most scenic and enjoyable cycling routes in northern Spain.
